At UASidekick we are committed to participating in groups who’s goal is to improve safety in the national airspace and advance the unmanned robotics industry. Regulation and standards are a critical part of a growing and thriving technology like drones and drone services. It is though, equally important to allow growth and innovation at every level from the hobbyist all the way to industrial and defensive use applications. We firmly believe that there can be a balanced approach to Remote Aviation (RA) in the application of standards and regulations where all levels of interest can be evaluated and included in the discussion. To that end we have set aside time and funds to participate in certain groups where this viewpoint can be most effective.
UASidekick is proud to support the UAST group of industry influencers. The Unmanned Aircraft Safety Team (UAST) is an industry-government partnership committed to ensuring the safe operations of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) in the national airspace system. The UAST supports the safe integration of UAS with data-driven safety enhancements and collaboration among members of the UAS industry.
The Drones and Robotics Working Group (formerly the Autonomous Security Robotics Working Group) brings together members of the security industry, end users, technology experts and other interested parties to promote best practices regarding the use of robots in security, develop research, offer guidance on legislative and regulatory matters and enhance communication and collaboration.
Space Act Agreement between UASidekick and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Ames Research Center for Unmanned Aircraft Systems Traffic Management. This agreement is intended to advance the NASA mission through its activities and programs specifically focused on unmanned traffic management.
NASA Urban Air Mobility Initiative: NASA’s vision for Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) is to help emerging aviation markets to safely develop an air transportation system that moves people and cargo between places previously not served or underserved by aviation – local, regional, intraregional, urban – using revolutionary new aircraft that are only just now becoming possible. AAM includes NASA’s work on Urban Air Mobility, and will provide substantial benefit to U.S. industry and the public.
ASTM F32 Public Safety & ASTM F 38 UAS Standards Setting: ASTM International is a globally recognized leader in the development of voluntary consensus standards. Today, over 12,000 ASTM standards are used around the world to improve product quality, enhance safety, strengthen market access and trade, and build consumer confidence. We welcome and encourage participation from around the world.
FAA Remote ID Cohort: UASidekick is proud to work with Intel as part of the team supporting the FAA in developing technology requirements for Remote Identification. The applications will provide drone identification and location information to safety and security authorities while in flight.
